Student Summer Job Program

January 25, 2002

The federal government has released deadlines for employers to apply for this year's student summer job action.

A key part of SSJA is summer career placements, a wage subsidy program that helps employers create career related summer jobs for students between 15 and 30 years of age, inclusive.

Employers must submit an application for a wage subsidy under SCP by April 2, 2002.

To apply for a wage subsidy or for information on other federal youth employment initiates, employers should contact the Human Resource Development Canada (HRDC) at 372-2515 or toll-free at 1-800-935-5555.
