Healthcare report looks at increased taxes

Healthcare is a priority for all Canadians but the Canadian Alliance does not believe they should be bled dry to pay for it.

MP Betty Hinton, responding to the release of the government’s Kirby report on healthcare, said she is saddened that the Liberal-heavy Senate would use a motherhood issue to hit the voters with another bill.

“Why would they release a report that has a $5 billion annual price tag. That’s enough to make any taxpayer sick,” said Hinton.

The report does have some interesting concepts within it but Hinton said what is lacking is a realization that Canadians want their money spent more efficiently on a better system not a more expensive system.

“Setting different priorities within the current $180 billion budget is what we want.”
